Translations from Czech into a foreign language

Every day, we translate hundreds of pages ranging from general texts to highly specialised treatises from the areas of law, medicine, business and marketing and texts with diverse technical focuses. Translations between two foreign languages

Do you need a translation from one foreign language into another? We realise translations for our local and foreign clients’ international projects on both a European and a worldwide scale. Court–certified translations

You may need a court-certified translation for official use. Such translations are often used for the submission of documents to the authorities, the courts or the police, but they are frequently also created for the purposes of companies and private individuals both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Court-certified translations are prepared by specialist translators who have been given authorisation to perform the work of a court translator by the appropriate regional court. We can also secure an apostille or the legalization of the translated documents.

DTP SERVICES   

We work with the latest computer technology and we constantly invest in our technical equipment. This means that we are also able to provide you with the highest possible level of services when it comes to the graphic layout of your documents. We work with all possible formats and the graphic design includes, amongst other things, page breaks, text formatting, the creation of headers and footers, the insertion of tables and graphs or photo editing. We can also convert your documents into digital form; you may only have them on paper, as a scan or in formats which do not enable further modification (often in pdf). We can provide you with the translations in the very format that you need them in.

You can also use our DTP Department’s services independently without having the given document translated by us.

We can prepare all of your documents for printing in any language and also carry out the printing using high quality digital or offset printers.

PROOREADING

The proofreading is always carried out by a native speaker of the given language. Our proof-readers have an excellent expert knowledge of the language and are aware of all current linguistic trends. They have a wide vocabulary and knowledge of the correct use of words in different contexts. Knowledge of the valid grammatical norms and a command of syntax and stylistics are a matter of course. They always approach their work conscientiously and with the utmost care.

Proofreading – basic standard 

The proof-readers check the comprehensiveness, formal correctness and editing of the translation (whether all the parts of the initial text have been translated, including any hidden texts or inserted files) and inspect the correct order of the chapters and pages, the conformity between the factual information contained in the original and the translation, whether the numbers or graph content conform to the original and so on.

Proofreading – a supplementary service

The proof-reader corrects any grammatical, stylistic or typographical errors or misprints and also pays attention to the graphic layout of the text (paragraph indents, hyphenation at the ends of lines, the placement of illustrations in the text, the header level and so on). The proof-reader checks the integrity of the text, its readability, the appropriateness of the translated expressions and the overall style, the precise understanding of the original text and its subsequent correct translation so that the target text fulfils its purpose. We also carefully check the correctness from the point of view of the used specialist terms. 

SOFTWARE LOCALIZATION

In addition to translations into the given languages, we also carry out the comprehensive localization of texts for you in a given development interface or we modify the source code in your applications according to the specific characteristics of the target market. In this way, we can adapt your product to the language and the cultural and other (technical, legal) customs in the target region or market. Your applications will function reliably in different language environments.

Localization represents a specific type of translation – this involves the specialised preparation of computer applications, software instruments, program documentation, computer games, audio-visual presentations, multimedia applications, on-line helps or websites in another language or languages in such a way so that the resulting product has been translated correctly with regard to the target country where the given translation is to be used and at the same time so that the application’s functionality has been completely preserved.   

INTERPRETING

Liaison interpreting

The interpreter accompanies you throughout the entire event and is constantly at your disposal – as such, the interpreter does not only perform the function of an interpreter, but also that of a guide. He or she assists you to orient yourself in the foreign environment or to settle a wide variety of matters. This type of interpreting is used in production processes, on business trips or during tourism events and it is suitable for small groups of up to ca 4 people.   

Consecutive interpreting

This involves the subsequent interpretation of short sections of the speaker’s speech. The speaker takes pauses when speaking and leaves the interpreter space to interpret the shared information. This type of interpreting is usually used during business meetings, in production, during training sessions, at small lectures and so on.

Simultaneous interpreting

This is undertaken simultaneously with the speaker’s spoken word, often with the use of interpreting technology which we provide for you, including transport, assembly, on-site technical support and subsequent disassembly. It is mainly used during conferences, lectures, presentations or press events.

Court-certified interpreting

This is undertaken by interpreters who have been authorised by the appropriate court of the Czech Republic or by the Ministry of justice of the Czech Republic. It is used in all cases where the actions are documented for the purposes of the given institution, for example, during court proceedings and hearings, at registry offices (during weddings and so on), during the course of acts recorded by a notary public concerning, for example, the establishment of a company, the holding of general meetings, the awarding of powers of attorney or the establishment of signature samples and also in association with the activities of the police (traffic accidents, reporting criminal offences, etc.). Every instance of court-certified interpreting is confirmed at the end with the imprint of a round official stamp which bears witness to the official nature of the act of interpreting and to its accuracy and confirms that it meets the requirements of the state bodies of the Czech Republic for the given legal act.

Interpreting into sign language

The interpreter is able to translate the communication into sign language for the hearing impaired. We can provide you with accredited interpreters with guaranteed quality (at the highest level – so-called category 1). They are specialists who are registered with the Czech Chamber of Sign Language Interpreters.
